Animal Spirits

A Gallery of Masks & Puppets

opens Saturday, February 2nd

Gathering from the far reaches of the world, these animal images, symbols, and spirits come to life in this gallery of masks and puppets.

Often the animal images are disguised, hidden and twisting within the different masks.

Can you find the jaguar, or the animal symbolizing the sky?

In the Parlor Gallery, life-size animal puppets made by children during Open Hand Theater’s 27 years of Circus Camp encircle the room.

The Exhibit was designed through our Apprenticeship Program by guest curator Neely Kinne, and assisted by Tim Howard, Caitlin Friedberg , and Cindi Farrell .
